It is mainly distributed from the Tohoku coast to the Hokkaido coast, so it is hardly known south of Kansai. Contrary to its striking appearance with its red body and large eyes, it is characterized by its rich flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture, and boasts exceptional fat content among white fish. Please enjoy it to your heart's content with the three cooking methods recommended by our inn. ■ Chef's special dish ■ "What is Kinkin..." Its official name is "Kichiji", but it is also commonly called Kinki or Menme. It is a rare fish that has more fat than protein, and is rich in DHA, EPA, and vitamin E. ■ Hot spring ■ "Freshwater spring water" The bath at Tsuta Onsen is a very rare "freshwater spring water" bath in Japan. The bathtub is located above the source, and raw spring water springs from the bottom of the bathtub. The pure water, which does not pass through pipes, is full of the blessings of nature. Please enjoy this secret hot spring that has been in existence for a thousand years since the Heian period. [Kuyasu-no-Yu] (Men and women alternate) "A secret hot spring where the spring springs from beneath your feet, opened in the Heian period" Renovated in 1990 and remains as it is today.
